If you hope to connect to your audience - you need to see Trevor. Bringing us up to speed with social media content, his presentation this year fits in nicely with the office of the Privacy Commissioner who will tackle the in's and out's of what happens if you get it wrong.

Sinda Hall - Melanoma NZ

Sinda feels that the management of the physical aspects of any cancer diagnosis is only one element of the patient’s care.  Supportive care is all about helping patients feel as well as they can, and providing non clinical information, practical assistance and emotional support in order that they to continue to live life well.

Ruth Nicholson - Passionate about getting industry to work together

Picture
Ruth is frustrated that the beauty and appearance medicine industry is so fragmented, each out for their own gains, she believes its about time we started supporting each other through shared access to better education, advice and support when it is needed.
Ruth is here to share what can go wrong and how to tell where your clinic staff are at with their IPL & Laser knowledge, and to discuss managing unwanted side effects related to Laser treatments.

Lynley Cahill - Getting famous for the wrong reasons ?

Picture
“There are pitfalls. Lack of Privacy, Loss of Privacy – that’s not for everyone. [But] I totally attribute my career to social media.” Kim Kardashian.

In a world where lack-of-privacy determines how insta-famous you become and YouTube is full of ‘my makeup routine tutorials’ it might be hard to see how privacy is relevant to the beauty industry. But not everyone is at the salon waiting to get treatment to post for their next Instagram and it’s your everyday customer’s privacy that Lynley Cahill is here to talk about.

Focusing on the principles within the Privacy Act, Lynley will talk about best practice privacy policies for practitioners. She will also introduce tools on the Office of the Privacy Commissioner’s website, such as AskUs, AboutMe and Priv-o-matic that are free, to help you get privacy savvy.

Make sure you catch Lynley’s presentation, so you know in a world of Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, where the lines of privacy are, because in the words of Kanye, not everyone wants to be “Famous”.
